Our core activity is to facilitate investment in residential and commercial properties, on behalf of local and international clients. Owning real estate in the new member states of the European Union offers extraordinary opportunities. Especially attractive locations are these countries’ respective capital cities; and amongst these – for a number of excellent reasons – Budapest holds a leading position.

Hungary became a full member of the European Union in 2004. The present time therefore is a unique historic moment; and a firstrate profit-making opportunity for investors. A striking statistic is that 70% of all the direct foreign investment in Hungary is allocated to the capital city, Budapest. A total of over 30 billion Euros has been invested here since 1989; and in one year (2003), growth of the investment rate reached as much as 45%.

Another factor relevant to property investment is that Budapest, due to its moderate living costs, will be a location particularly attractive to the “demographic bulge”, tens of millions of nationals of Western Europe now nearing retirement age, who when they actually do retire, over the next 10-20 years, may well choose to reside outside their home country. An estimate by the British Bank Alliance suggests that by the year 2020 as many as 6 million U.K. nationals – one tenth of the current population – plan to do to just that.
